The subject airplane was photographed in February, 1997 at the San Diego Aerospace Museum’s Gillespie Field and is a Lockheed (General Dynamics) F-16N that was flown by the Naval Fighter Weapons School (Top Gun) at NAS Miramar, California as aggressor aircraft number 163269-42. The subject was used in the adversary role for Top Gun training and for training and certification of adversary pilots.

The subject was retired from active service in 1995 as a result of concerns related to airframe fatigue due to the consistent high G maneuvers associated with the aggressor task. The subject is now on static display at the San Diego, CA Air Museum.
